1. Maintaining and updating of database in the field of agriculture.
2. Obtaining monthly progress through district offices of agriculture and the Mahaweli Authority
   of Sri Lanka. (Paddy, Other Field Crops, Vegetables & Fruit) and analyzing of data so
   obtained.
3. Preparation of monthly progress reports and progress review reports at the end of both Yala
   and Maha seasons.
4. Forecasting of Agricultural Crop Production.
5. Preparation of agriculture related data to the Hon. Minister, officials of the Ministry
   including the secretary, other line Ministries and local and foreign institutions / individuals
   dealing with various aspects of agriculture.

1. Formulation of necessary data through co–ordinating with various division of the Ministry,
   other Ministries, Govt. Departments and various other parties.
2. Cross examination of data and verification of accuracy of data through field supervision.
3. Training of officers and updating their knowledge with regard to crop production forecasting
   programme.
4. Compilation of a list, of names of farmers in respect of other field crops in addition to paddy.
