A delegation of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce meets with Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha recently at the “Govijana Mandiraya”. During this meeting, several important matters were discussed between both parties.
The delegation representing the Chinese Chamber of Commerce stated that they are planning to make an investment in Sri Lanka. Their objective is to establish large-scale dairy farms and produce agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits for export, utilizing lands that are currently not in use.
In this regard, attention has been focused on utilizing currently unused lands belonging to the Department of Land Commissioner General, the Land Reform Commission, and the Mahaweli Authority for this purpose.
A concrete proposal regarding this matter was submitted by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and they took steps to submit it to Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, K.D. Lalkantha as well as to the Presidential Secretariat. The Minister responded positively to this matter.
