Progress Review-2025 of the Land Use Policy Planning Department was held under the patronage of Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, K.D. Lalkantha.
The 2025 progress review of the Land Use Policy Planning Department was held today (19th) at the said Department under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, K.D. Lalkantha.
At this occasion, information was submitted regarding the tasks carried out and the progress achieved by the Land Use Policy Planning Department during the year 2025. Currently, the Land Use Policy Planning Department does not have the legal authority to enforce land use policy plans. Since Cabinet approval must be obtained for the amendments that have been submitted in relation to the formulation of land use policies, the Minister focused his special attention towards implementing the necessary steps for that purpose. The Minister stated that the relevant measures would be taken expeditiously.
At this occasion, the Minister inquired from the officers regarding the current issues. It was revealed that there is a shortage of officers in the Department. In particular, it was stated that there are staff vacancies for management service officers and drivers.
The staff officers of the Land Use Policy Planning Department participated in this occasion.
