Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating of database in the field of agriculture.
- Obtaining monthly progress through district offices of agriculture and the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka. (Paddy, Other Field Crops, Vegetables & Fruit) and analyzing of data so obtained.
- Preparation of monthly progress reports and progress review reports at the end of both Yala and Maha seasons.
- Forecasting of Agricultural Crop Production.
- Preparation of agriculture related data to the Hon. Minister, officials of the Ministry including the secretary, other line Ministries and local and foreign institutions / individuals dealing with various aspects of agriculture.
Activities
- Formulation of necessary data through co–ordinating with various division of the Ministry, other Ministries, Govt. Departments and various other parties.
- Cross examination of data and verification of accuracy of data through field supervision.
- Training of officers and updating their knowledge with regard to crop production forecasting programme.
- Compilation of a list, of names of farmers in respect of other field crops in addition to paddy.
