Admin (II)
Introduction
This Division is responsible for supervising administrative functions of the Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board, Paddy Marketing Board, Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute and Sri Lanka Council For Agricultural Research Policy which are operating under this Ministry.
In addition the following functions and duties of the ministry are handled by this Division.
- Submission of Cabinet Memoranda.
- Forwarding observations on Cabinet Memoranda.
- Drafting replies to Parliamentary Questions.
- Issuing of vehicle Permits on concessionary terms.
- Activities relating to Parliamentary Sectorial Oversight Committees.
- Activities relating to Parliamentary Consultative Committees.
- Activities relating to Parliamentary Petition Committees.
- Co-ordination of Annual Budget Debates in Parliament.
- Co-ordination of “Janapathita Kiyanna” Programme.
- Taking actions regarding complains made to the Presidential Secretariat.
- Taking Actions regarding complains made to the Prime Minister’s Office.
- Taking Actions on Complains received by Human Right Commission.
- Coordinating with the Department of Election with regard to holding Elections.
Services Rendered by the Division
Agrarian Services Division is directly involved with regard to taking actions on complains made to this Ministry. In addition this Division pays an early attention on complains within the scope of work of this Ministry addressed to the Presidential Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, Human Rights Commission and Public Petitions Committee.
