Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Minister Mahinda Amaraweera's residence in Agunakolapalasse has been cultivated using organic fertilizers.

The minister did the harvesting of the vegetables he had grown in his garden last Sunday (28).

Brinjal, Snake Gourd, Radish, Cabbage, Nokol, Long Beans, Chilli, Capsicum, Tomato, Spinach, Bitter Gourd etc. All the vegetables that grow in upland, lowland and dry zone have been cultivated by the minister of Agriculture.

After the harvesting, the minister stated that the - “I get the paddy we need from my own paddy field. I have also grown vegetables. Everyone can grow a crop or two even in the little space they have. I always support non-toxic organic farming. That way we can get many advantages. Every officer working in the Ministry of Agriculture should cultivate any crop in his garden. We should all work to be an example to others," the minister said.
